While we understand that financial incentives are not the main motivation for fostering, they are still important. We believe that our foster carers deserve to be rewarded for the hard work they do.
You will receive your fostering allowance as soon as a child is placed with you. It covers expenses such as food, bills and clothing but will also include a reward fee for yourselves to recognise your efforts.
The fee you receive with Local Fostering will vary greatly depending on the age of the child and type of placement. To discuss foster care payments with us in more detail, please fill in our enquiry form and we will be happy to help.
As a foster carer, you are classed as self-employed. This entitles you to certain tax exemptions. You will also continue to receive any benefits you are already entitled to.
